The Gynaecology Department is currently headed by Dr. José Ignacio Gerchunoff and Dr. Jordana Mata. Both are specialists in Gynaecology and Obstetrics, with extensive postgraduate training in Gynaecological Surgery and minimally invasive surgery, such as hysteroscopy, resectoscopy, video laparoscopy, and more. Dr. Gerchunoff also specialises in breast diseases, especially breast cancer, and Dr. Mata is also a fertility specialist.

Complete gynaecological examinations
Hospital Recoletas Salud Marbella has the necessary medical equipment to perform complete gynaecological examinations, including all necessary complementary tests: state-of-the-art ultrasound machines, both for breast ultrasound and for transvaginal or gynaecological ultrasound, which offer high-definition 2D images, and even 3D images with the possibility of post-processing when necessary.
The Hospital also has a video colposcope for cervical studies in cases of suspected pre-malignant lesions, in order to be able to take better biopsies targeted to the area of the lesion and a digital mammography equipment with tomosynthesis that allows clearer images to be obtained mainly in women with dense breasts, and avoids the need to repeat projections, making our patients less exposed to X-rays. In addition, the service also has a 3 Tesla magnetic resonance system for breast and pelvic tests.
